This Independence Day week brings a strong lineup of Indian films across languages, headlined by two major Tamil releases on August 14.

Telugu — August 14

Agadha — A spiritually gifted woman uncovers a deadly supernatural threat in a forbidden forest cave. Directed by MS Raju, starring Kamakshi Bhaskarla and Shravan Reddy.

Pallaburusu — A lonely 68-year-old farmer's simple request for a toothbrush spirals into an unexpected legal battle with his estranged son. A rural family dramedy set in Telangana.

Telugu — August 15

Hushar Pittalu — Two teenagers in a village navigate curiosity, peer pressure and a secret relationship that upends their families. Directed by Bikshu Koyagura.

Hindi — August 14

Awarapan 2 — Shivam is pulled back into the underworld, where every choice tests love, sacrifice and atonement. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, starring Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani.

Batwara 1947 — A human examination of the India-Pakistan partition of 1947, its displacement and lasting cost. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, starring Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi.

Malayalam — August 14

Madhuramee Jeevitham — A retired bank manager and his wife navigate the quiet beauties and emotional shifts of their later years together. Directed by Mathew Scaria, starring Siddique and Vinaya Prasad.
