Ajith is not playing a dual role in Vedalam 

Vedalam starring Ajith, Shruthi Haasan and Lakshmi Menon in the lead roles is directed by Siruthai fame Siva. Earlier, there were reports that Vedalam might be a horror flick and Ajith will be playing dual role in the movie. But the recent update is, the movie will be an out and out commercial film, on the lines of Badhsa, where Ajith plays a Don 'Vedalam' in the flashback portions and Ganesh in the present portion. Thambi Ramaiah plays father role for Ajith and Lakshmi Menon plays the sister role 'Tamizh'. 

The movie is targeted for Diwali release. Music is by Anirudh. The movie is produced by AM Ratnam's Sri Sai Ram Creations.
