Yennai Arindhaal Preview - SWOT Analysis
After being postponed on a few occasions, Ajith's Yennai Arindhaal will be hitting the screens on February 5. Needless to say, Ajith-Gautham Menon combination is a dream come true for movie buffs and the movie is all set to take a blockbuster opening.
Strengths
- Ajith is one actor who isn't afraid to reveal his age on the silver screens. Why would he be when he looks smashing as ever with salt and pepper look too? Unarguably, Ajith is the biggest asset of the film.
- In many interviews, Gautham Menon had revealed that Yennai Arindhaal will be a film in his style and Ajith also wanted it to be that way. Without making any compromises and having taken up a cop story, Gautham Menon has already won on paper.
- After producing few mixed albums, Harris Jayaraj is truly back to his melodious best for Yennai Arindhaal. Harris and Gautham have teamed up after 6 long years, which has strengthened the musical aspect of the film too.
- Trisha is teaming up with Ajith for the fourth time, and their chemistry has always received rave responses. The movie also has Anushka, Arun Vijay and Vivek in pivotal characters. The movie can be expected to be an absorbing entertainer, with such a huge star cast.
- The teaser and trailer of the movie have been more than impressive. The movie is touted to be an intense drama revolving around Ajith's behavioural changes.
Weakness
The movie's running time is close to three hours, and it has become a common practise of the filmmakers to trim down the length of the movies post release. The running time could be a psychological downer for the audience.
Opportunities
- In Tamil industry, barring a few directors, most of them prefer to write their own screenplays. However, Gautham Menon has roped in famous Bollywood writer Sridhar Raghavan and Thiagarajan Kumararaja of Aaranya Kaandam fame to write the screenplay of the film. The movie buffs are hoping that this healthy trend will continue, so that fresh ideas would get transformed into films.
- This decade has been not so kind to Gautham Menon so far, as his films failed to impress the audience and he was also involved in few financial problems. Yennai Arindhaal's success would put him back to the limelight and help him to get back to his classy best.
Threat(s)
The movie is releasing at that time of the year when students are busy preparing for the exams. Also, Dhanush's most anticipated film Anegan is hitting the screens on February 13. After the opening weekend, the movie has to rely on positive word of mouth and high occupancy levels to have an unaffected run at the box office.
Final Words
Will Yennai Arindhaal get into the league of Gautham Menon's earlier cop films, viz. Kaakha Kaakha and Vettaiyadu Vilaiyaadu? We will be back with the FDFS review.
