AR Rahman Urvashi song inspires Will.i.am

Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman's 1994 chartbuster 'Urvashi Urvashi' song has inspired American singer-songwriter Will.i.am's new song 'Birthday'. A.R. Rahman took to Twitter to share the good news about the creative partnership. He posted, "Excited to creatively partner with Will.i.am to recreate an early popular track of mine in a new flavour"

The 'Birthday' song follows the tune of Rahman's peppy number that originally featured in Tamil film 'Kadhalan', which was dubbed in Hindi as 'Humse Hai Muqabla' and in Telugu as 'Premikudu'. The song was picturised on India's dancing sensation Prabhu Deva.

Rapper Will.i.am has teamed up with Cody Wise for ‘Birthday’ which has been co-produced by Damien LeRoy.
