There has been a key change in plans for Dhanush’s much-anticipated Ilaiyaraaja biopic. The film, which was earlier set to be directed by Arun Matheswaran, is now expected to be helmed by a different director. While an official announcement is awaited, the project is likely to go on floors only by April 2027.

In addition, Dhanush has also signed another major biographical film. The actor will portray former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in a biopic to be directed by Om Raut. This project is expected to begin shooting towards the end of 2027 or sometime in 2028.

With two high-profile biopics in the pipeline, Dhanush is gearing up for an intense and challenging phase in his career.
