Idly Kadai Audio Launch lights up with Dhanush, Tamizh humour

Idly Kadai written, directed, co-produced, and headlined by Dhanush is an upcoming Tamil language drama film that is all set to release in theaters on October 1, 2025. On Sunday, a grand Idly Kadai audio launch event was held at Nehru Stadium, Chennai. 

 

 

One of the many filmmakers who attended the event was director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, who debuted with the Tamil sleeper hit Lubber Pandhu (2024). While speaking at the Idli Kadai audio launch, director Tamizharasan indulged the audience in light-hearted humour stating, 

 

"The reason I'm at the Idly Kadai audio launch is for recce. I've come (to Nehru Stadium) to check if the location can hold enough audience if at all there is an audio launch for my next movie with a hero like Dhanush, a production company like Dawn Pictures, and more people than gathered here today. Let's see (if that film happens). 

 

This is not a film announcement. It's just a rumour. It's a manifestation that the audio launch of my next movie should happen at a stadium, and that an actor like Dhanush should be my next hero. 

 

Also I've delighted myself reading one too many a rumour about Dhanush..Not the rumours you think so please don't take me wrong anyone. Between 2002 and 2010, I've felt happiness reading rumours of a collaboration between Dhanush and directors like KS Ravikumar in the newspapers. Whether they happen or not, reading the rumours alone made me very happy, and now that Dhanush has rumours (of collaborating) with me, I'm happy once again. 

 

So the film with me and Dhanush is a mere rumour. If you want to believe (that the Dhanush-Tamizharasan Pachamuthu-Dawn Pictures) team up is happening, you can, for those who don't want to believe, it is just a rumour. It is totally upto those who want to believe. 

 

I came here for site seeing, and Dhanush is much more senior than me. So I have no wishes (blessings) to give for Idly Kadai. Among the people here, the only person younger than me is (music composer) Sai Abhyankkar. And I am one film old. So I'm not here for wishing but only onlooking".

 

While Dhanush was extremely humoured by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu's speech at the Idli Kadai audio launch, the director on a serious note also shared, how Dhanush has been an inspiration for 'boys like him' growing up. 

 

"(Dhanush's debut film) Kaadhal Kondein (2003) is a movie about insecurities but for boys like me, and many people in Tamil Nadu, the film gave a lot of confidence. (Vijay starrer) Ghilli (2004) had a dialogue that went, "Average looking guys like us are the Manmadha Raasas (Gods of Love) today" (an ode to the chartbuster Manmadha Raasa song from Dhanush's 2003 film Thiruda Thirudi). 

 

Seeing all that gave boys like us the confidence that we too are heroes. So all that was very inspiring for us." 

 

Idly Kadai also stars Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Sathyaraj, R. Parthiban, Shalini Pandey, P. Samuthirakani, Rajkiran among others, and has GV Prakash Kumar for music. Wunderbar Films, and Dawn Pictures have produced Idli Kadai while Red Giant Movies is distributing the film in Tamil Nadu.
