The Superstar mania has officially taken over as Coolie bookings opened in Indian states of Kerala and Gujarat, on August 8, 2025. With the first hour, Coolie recorded an unprecedented sales in movie tickets both online and offline. In Kerala, an estimated 100K tickets were sold in less than 3 hours online, making Coolie the fastest Tamil movie to achieve this feat in the region. 

Coolie's pre-sales from the BookMyShow ticket sales alone is estimated to be around Rs. 1.62 Cr+ in Kerala. Including Kerala and Gujarat, a total of 1132 shows opened for Coolie on August 8, and the total number of tickets sold is estimated to be around 126,870.

Coolie's box-office from advance bookings in both Kerala, and Gujarat is currently estimated at Rs. 2.15 Cr, putting the average ticket price at Rs. 170. A Sun Pictures production, Coolie is being presented in Kerala by Haasini Meenu Associates, and marks the debut collaboration of Rajinikanth with writer, director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Censored A, Coolie comes with a runtime of 2 hours 49 minutes 57 seconds, and also stars Shruthi Haasan, Sathyaraj, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Pooja Hegde in a cameo, among others. Coolie tells the story of a mysterious man (Rajinikanth), who takes a stand against a corrupt syndicate exploiting and abusing the workers of a port town.

The movie's technical crew includes Anirudh Ravichander for music, Anbariv for the high octane stunts, Girish Gangadharan for cinematography, and Philomin Raj for edits.
