Coolie: Say My Name ad-lib in Power House delights Breaking Bad, Rajinikanth fans

Coolie starring Rajinikanth in the lead had a third single release today titled Power House, and the Tamil version of the song is currently streaming on all audio platforms. Coolie is a Sun Pictures production, and the production banner's last film with Rajinikanth was Jailer (2023)—a film that showcased the Superstar in Breaking Bad vibes.

While fans did really want Rajini to be Walter White/Heisenberg in Jailer, the actor's character was more on the lines of Mike Ehrmantraut, also from the same popular American TV series. The shared troupes between Mike from Breaking Bad (2008-1023), and its spin-off Better Call Saul (2015 - 2022), and "Tiger" Muthuvel Pandian from Jailer, were both being retired cops, having a cop son, having an unexpected past, going after the son's murderers, and taking care of son's wife, and child at close quarters.

Now Heisenberg is intersecting with Rajinikanth in the Coolie third single Power House. Walter White played by actor Bryan Cranston has a famous line in Breaking Bad Season 5 Episode 7, where he reveals his identity as Heisenberg who killed the main antagonist of the series, Gus Fring. Heisenberg's identity reveal is marked by a spine-chilling scene where he utters the dialogue, "Say my name", to which the character Declan responds, "You're Heisenberg" just by knowing whom he killed, and Heisenberg ends it with, "You're goddamn right".

Heisenberg's 'Say My Name' line is legendary among Breaking Bad fans, and this has been used as an ad-lib by music composer Anirudh Ravichander twice, in the Coolie song Power House. Some reactions since the Power House song dropped with the Breaking Bad lines:

Coolie written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj releases in theaters worldwide on August 14, 2025. The movie also stars Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Shruthi Haasan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Pooja Hegde, among others.
