Dropping out of the Tamil New Year race, Idly Kadai starring and directed by Dhanush has postponed its previously scheduled April 10 release by 6 months. It was officially announced on Friday that the new Idly Kadai release date is October 1, 2025. 

Idly Kadai is now headed for a 5-day opening weekend during Dussehra 2025; The movie releases on a Wednesday that marks the Aayudha Pooja holiday, followed by the Vijayadasami / Gandhi Jayanti Thursday on October 2, 2025. 

A Dawn Pictures and Wunderbar Films production, Idly Kadai also starsNithya Menen, Shalini Pandey, Arun Vijay, Rajkiran, Prakash Raj, Samuthirakani, among others. The movie has GV Prakash Kumar for music, and Red Giant Movies is the film's distributor in Tamil Nadu.
