Music composer GV Prakash has updated via his X handle that the song composing for Vaadivaasal, actor Suriya's upcoming film with director Vetrimaaran, has begun. Vaadivaasal is a long delayed project produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu's V Creations.

Set against the backdrop of 'Jallikattu', a popular bull taming sport in Tamil Nadu, Vaadivaasal movie is titled after the place where bulls are released during this spectacle sport. The movie is based on a 1940 novella by writer CS Chellapa, which marked the first time that the traditional sport of 'Jallikattu' was highlighted in Tamil modern literature.

Vaadivaasal was first officially announced in 2019, and its cast and crew revealed in 2020.
