Tamil cinema is gearing up for a box-office clash this February 21, 2025 with Pradeep Ranganathan starrer Dragon, and Dhanush directed Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK) releasing on the same Friday. The same movies are also clashing in Telugu as Return of the Dragon (release by Mythri Movie Makers) and Jaabilamma Neeku Antha Kopama (release by Asian Suresh Entertainment LLP). 

Dragon co-written by Pradeep Ranganathan is directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by AGS Entertainment. AGS is also self-distributing Dragon in theaters, and is up against Red Giant Movies which is distributing the Dhanush production, NEEK. 

Red Giant Movies is the distribution banner of Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin, and has a better influence in the movie theater market. Because of the same, NEEK has gotten more screens for 9 AM shows on February 21, 2025 in comparison to Dragon. 

However Dragon's advances seem better in comparison to NEEK; Even the limited 9 AM shows for Dragon have filled fast and there is an increasing demand for more Dragon FDFS (first day first show). For instance, the screen 2 in Kamala theaters, Chennai where a 9 AM show for Dragon will be showcased is almost sold out, yet there are no more screens available for booking the Dragon FDFS. 

The demand for NEEK FDFS on the other hand, seems less in comparison.
