Wildfire

Barring a few hiccups here and there. A thoroughly entertaining flick worthy of a community viewing with plenty of crowd-pleasing moments. The soul-stirring stretch plus the educational messaging at the end does wonders and nowhere preachy too.(more)

This Ashwath Marimuthu rollercoaster ride is fun & fully charged

Pradeep Ranganathan as Raghavan aka Dragon makes you empathise with him even as he repeatedly makes wrong choices. Anupama as Keerthi too is as expressive as always. Behind all the jokes and silliness the film paints the situation with, there is something deeper to look at. Do we regret our decisions? What if we go back to a place we didn't want to be in the first place? Would we live a changed life? And a lot more questions. The songs and the way they are woven into the narrative is also a great plus to the film. If you remember well enough, a lot of coincides, magic, and second chances happen in Oh My Kadavule too but the actual change happens in real life, where every action attracts an equal and opposite reaction. In fact, this angle where the film wanders into even a dreamy land but doesnt lose touch with reality is what made OMK relatable, emotional, and special. Retaining the same essence, Ashwath Marimuthus second outing too is a fun, emotional, and fully charged ride.(more)

Dragon is a satisfying watch with minor shortcomings. Despite convenient writing, the screenplay keeps the story going with some interesting twists and turns.(more)

Pradeep Ranganathan and Ashwath Marimuthu deliver a fun-filled, youthful entertainer

Director Ashwath Marimuthu has given us a film that is highly engaging and entertaining with drama, romance and life lessons. Raghavans middle class parents struggle to educate him but want to see his success that they are willing to sacrifice everything for him. Raghavan, like many college boys, is carefree and blames his parents for lack of money and not being able to succeed rather than the fact that he didnt bother to study and earn his degree. Is cheating the only way out for him? Is cheating important in the ladder to success? Does love failure mean you dont get second chances? Should the parents sacrifice be repaid in life? How much should we value honesty?(more)

Has its moments

Return of the Dragan has a good subject which is dragged for no reason. The slow pace and lengthy runtime dominate the few good aspects of the film. If you ignore the above aspects and want to watch a youthful drama this weekend, give the film a shot but keep your expectations low.(more)

Pradeep Ranganathan entertains and captures the zeitgeist, again

Ragavan's story is a modern take, an antidote, to the countless Tamil college dramas with heroes proclaiming the swag with which young men should carry themselves. Ask those who were late to realise what 'gethu' really means, those who wish they had a time machine to change their college lives, and they would concur with what Ashwath speaks about in Dragon.(more)
