The Greatest of All Time starring Vijay in the lead is a spy action entertainer written and directed by Venkat Prabhu. The GOAT as the movie is also known, released in theaters on September 5, 2024 and started streaming on the Netflix OTT platform on October 3, 2024. 

Recently, a video of actor Vijay celebrating the success of GOAT with film's producer Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment, and The GOAT's Tamil Nadu distributor was released on social media. While a simple cake-cutting event, the video seems to have triggered the question of director Venkat Prabhu's absence from the celebration.

Venkat Prabhu's cousin and known costume designer Vasuki Bhaskar seems to have quoted The GOAT's success celebration video with a now-deleted tweet that read, "If captain of the ship, brainchild @vp_offl #TheGOAT movie director was called in the time taken to order the cake, it would've been picture perfect. I believe he also had a lot to contribute in delivering the 100 crore u r celebrating. Our Team would've been happy 2 @mynameisraahul (Tamil Nadu distributor of The Greatest Of All Time)." 

Another industry friend of director Venkat Prabhu's who has worked as a producer on Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu (2024), representing the production banner Masala Popcorn also took to twitter to write,

It’s amazing to see the success, but there’s no movie without the creator. The celebration feels hollow when the very person whose vision brought it all to life is left out. No hashtags needed just spread the love 😊🙏🏼

The Greatest Of All Time was distributed in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka by Romeo Pictures. The cake cutting event was done to mark The GOAT's Rs. 100 Cr. share in Tamil Nadu.
