Coolie starring Rajinikanth in the lead is an upcoming action thriller written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and produced by Sun Pictures. Set against the backdrop of gold smuggling, Coolie comes with an ensemble of stars like senior Telugu star Nagarjuna, and Manjummel Boys fame Soubhin Shahir.

Latest to be officially announced as part of the Coolie's cast is actress Shruthi Haasan, who is making her debut collaboration with not just director Lokesh Kanagaraj, but also her father Kamal Haasan's long time friend and fierce competition in the business, Superstar Rajinikanth. 

Shruthi plays a character named Preethi in Coolie, and her character poster was unveiled wielding a spade on Friday. While Coolie as such is turning into a star-studded affair, Shruthi Haasan's presence in the movie has tickled the curious bones of the Tamil audience, who have grown up watching not just her but both Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth.
