The Akaali starring Nassar, Thalaivasal Vijay, Jayakumar Janakiraman, Vinoth Kishan, and actress Swayam Siddha in the lead is a Tamil language dark horror movie that released in theaters on May 31, 2024. The film is now all set for a digital premiere, and Aha Tamil has officially announced The Akaali's OTT release as July 19, 2024. 

The Akaali revolves around a newly appointed investigating officer (Swayam Siddha), who finds herself digging into a 7-year-old case where occult gangs and forces have been responsible for a series of satanic killings in the city. How does she solve the case with the help of an ex-cop, is what forms the rest. 

Debutant Mohamed Asif Hameed has written and directed The Akaali. The movie is produced by PBS Productions, and has Anish Mohan for music, Giri Murphy for cinematography, Iniyavan Pandiyan for edits.
