Actor and Rajya Sabha MP Kamal Haasan has extended his congratulations to actor-politician Vijay following TVK's victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections. Vijay contested from two constituencies — Perambur and Tiruchirapalli East.

Taking to X, Kamal wrote, "My congratulations to the leader of the victorious Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, Thiru Vijay, and the members of his party, who have earned the people's trust and achieved a great victory in their very first election. My best wishes for their public service to flourish."

TVK, which Vijay announced in 2023 alongside his shift to politics, contested the elections independently without being part of any coalition — making the victory all the more significant for a party contesting its first election.
