Believe Me and Head to Theatres - Dhanush Expresses Rare Confidence on Kara Ahead of April 30 Release

Dhanush is not one to wear his confidence on his sleeve before a release — but Kara is clearly different. At a pre-release event, the actor threw his full weight behind the film, urging audiences to trust him and show up on April 30.

"Don't look at it as a film acted by me or directed by Vignesh Raja. This is your film," he said, emphasising that Kara speaks directly to people and their everyday struggles. "It addresses people's problems in the right way. It will be in the entertaining space, but won't be preachy. Kara will be a high-octane thriller," he added.

Going further, Dhanush made a rare public declaration of confidence. "Usually, I don't express my confidence before the release of many films, but for this film, I am very confident. Everyone will feel like they are seeing themselves on screen. Your problems will be represented in the film. They will know the pain, see the solutions and their success," he said.

Kara, directed by Vignesh Raja and co-written with Alfred Prakash, features Dhanush as Karasaami — a robber during the 1991 Gulf War fuel crisis in Tamil Nadu. The cast includes Mamitha Baiju, Jayaram, KS Ravikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunaas, Sreeja Ravi, Prithvi Pandiarajan, and MS Bhaskar. GV Prakash Kumar scores the music, with Dhanush himself among the lyricists alongside Yuga Bharathi, Uma Devi, Arunraja Kamaraj, Karthik Netha, and Arivu. The technical crew features cinematographer Theni Eswar, editor Sreejith Sarang, art director Mayapandi, and action director Dinesh Kasi.
