As the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election results came in, Superstar Rajinikanth extended his congratulations to actor-politician Vijay on TVK's resounding victory.

Taking to X, Rajinikanth wrote, "My congratulations to Thiru Vijay, President of the victorious Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, and to the members of his party, on their resounding victory in the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections."

Vijay, who announced his political entry in 2023 and formed Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam the same year, contested from Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East. His upcoming film Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth and starring Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju among others, is set to be his final screen appearance before fully committing to politics.
