Prakash Raj Defends Vijay Against Governor's Delay - "This Behaviour is Disgusting, Unacceptable and Unconstitutional"

In a significant shift of tone, actor Prakash Raj — who had earlier questioned the trend of film stars entering politics — has come out firmly in defence of Vijay as the Governor's handling of the government formation process draws sharp criticism.

Prakash Raj, who has shared memorable screen space with Vijay in films like Ghilli and Pokkiri, had raised eyebrows post-election by underlining the losses of K Kamaraj and former CM MK Stalin and stating that "society has become fan-driven." He had also questioned whether fame alone would be enough to ensure proper governance.

However, as uncertainty looms over government formation — with talks of a potential DMK-AIADMK coalition emerging and Governor Rajendra Vishwanath asking Vijay and TVK to prove majority backing — Prakash Raj drew a clear line. Responding to an X user who alleged the Governor was "just playing games with elected MLAs," Prakash wrote, "This Governor's behaviour is disgusting... unacceptable and unconstitutional. We may have differences… but Vijay has got the mandate. He should be allowed to claim his right on the floor of the house."

He also reposted journalist Rajdeep Sardesai's pointed question — "Why is the TN Governor keeping TVK's Vijay waiting when no other party has staked claim to form a government? What 'game' is being played in Chennai?"

Vijay is reportedly set to meet Governor Rajendra Vishwanath to demonstrate majority support among MLAs.
