In 2023, actor Ajith Kumar appeared in a grey-shaded lead character in the bank heist thriller Thunivu. The name of his 'Dark Devil' role never being revealed in the movie, was quite similar to Clint Eastwood's 'stranger' character not having a name in the famous Hollywood movie High Plains Drifter (1973). On Thursday, the title of Ajith's 63rd film i.e. AK 63 was revealed to be Good Bad Ugly. 

The title poster with bloodied brass knuckles and barbed wires, plus the pistols in the background, sets expectations for Good Bad Ugly to be an action thriller. Interestingly one of Clint Eastwood's other famous films is titled The Good The Bad The Ugly (1966), and the movie is known for its stylish gunfights, violence and tension. 

It remains to be seen if Good Bad Ugly's writer, director Aadhik Ravichandran has paid homage to Clint Eastwood's movie in any manner, given that the title of his film clearly does. The title poster of Good Bad Ugly also carries 5 stars in it, similar to the star insignia of Field Marshal - the highest attainable rank in the Indian army.  

A Mythri Movie Makers production, Good Bad Ugly is scheduled to begin filming in June 2024, and release by Pongal i.e. January, 2025. The technical crew of Good Bad Ugly includes Devi Sri Prasad for music, Abhinandan Ramanujam for cinematography, Vijay Velkutty for edits, and Supreme Sundar for action.
