Actor Vishnu Vishal plays one of the leads in upcoming Tamil movie Lal Salaam, which is scheduled to release in theaters on February 9, 2023. An Aishwarya Rajinikanth directorial, Lal Salaam also stars Rajinikanth in an extended special appearance as Moideen Bhai. During the promotions of this cricket-based sports drama that also stars Vikranth in the lead, Vishnu Vishal recounted a heart-warming gesture that the actor feels is a strong testament to why Rajinikanth is 'the Superstar'. 

Vishnu Vishal born Vishal Kudawla was previously married to Rajini Natraj, the daughter of actor Rajinikanth's friend. Rajini Natraj was infact named after actor Rajinikanth, and Vishnu Vishal has shared this when he was together with his first wife too. 

Vishnu Vishal has been married to Badminton player Jwala Gutta since 2021. He co-parents a son with his first wife and sharing a phone call with her, the actor said, "When this film (Lal Salaam) came to me, my son's mother called me and asked if I was doing it. I asked her how she knew. She told me that Rajinikanth Sir had called her and said 'Rajini (Vishnu Vishal's first wife), my daughter (Aishwarya Rajinikanth) has told me that if Vishnu (Vishal) did the role in her film, it would be suitable. Uncle (Rajinikanth), I too am acting in that film. Is that okay with you?'. I will never forget this. Because look at the importance he has given. It's his friend's daughter. This is why he is a Superstar in my opinion." 

An emotional Vishnu Vishal also added, "He (Rajinikanth) respected his friend, his friend's daughter and made that courtesy call. I don't know if I should have said this out or no. But I felt like saying it. In my opinion, the reason why Rajinikanth is Superstar is his (large) heart. I feel very proud actually that he (Rajinikanth) (called and) asked. Look at the value he has given (to fellow human beings)..That's how it started and my son's mother wished me too that she was very happy (that I was getting the offer)."
