Lal Salaam starring Rajinikanth in a special appearance is an upcoming cricket based sports drama that is scheduled to release in theaters on February 9, 2024. The movie written and directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth and produced by Lyca Productions, stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead and has AR Rahman for music. 

The Lal Salaam audio launch event took place at Sri Sairam Institute of Technology, Chennai on Republic day i.e. January 26, 2024. Sun TV has now announced that the event along with AR Rahman's live performance and the speeches from Lal Salaam's cast and crew including Rajinikanth, will be telecast on February 4, 2024 (Sunday) at 3 PM.

Lal Salaam titled after the South Asian communist chant, is themed around communal harmony and religious tolerance. Rajinikanth appears in a Muslim character named Moideen Bhai who calls out poisoning of young minds by an intolerant society. Aishwarya Rajinikanth has said that while the character was not written for Rajinikanth, the Superstar himself asked for the role and performed. Lal Salaam music composer AR Rahman has said that Rajinikanth has also tweaked some dialogues in the film.
