Vettaiyan starring Rajinikanth in the lead is an upcoming Tamil movie written and directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim (2021) fame, and backed by Lyca Productions. Earlier in the day, Rajinikanth was spotted in Thoothukudi, a Southern district in Tamil Nadu which was recently adversely affected by torrential rains and inundation.

Videos of the Superstar exiting the Thoothukudi airport could be spotted on social media, and Rajini is in the city to resume filming for Vettaiyan. Titled after Rajinikanth's character in 2005 hit Chandramukhi, Vettaiyan's ensemble consists of names like Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggutbati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan among others. 

The film's technical crew includes Anirudh Ravichander for music, SR Kathir for cinematography and Philomin Raj for edits.
