For a while now, buzz about Lal Salaam getting postponed from Pongal 2024 has lingered. The Tamil film starring Vishnu Vishal, Vikranth and and star actor Rajinikanth in a special appearance, is a Lyca Productions venture, and despite the banner not making any official announcements, it is expected that Lal Salaam will release on Republic day i.e. January 26, 2024 instead. 

At this time, Lyca Productions has announced that it will be presenting Arun Vijay starrer Mission: Chapter 1 for Pongal, 2024. Written by A Mahadev, and directed by Vijay, Mission: Chapter 1 was previously titled Achcham Enbadhu Illayae, and also stars Amy Jackson, Nimisha Sajayan, Abi Hassan, Bharath Bopanna, child actor Iyal, Viraaj S, Jason Shah among others.

Lyca Productions is presumably releasing Mission: Chapter 1 instead of Lal Salaam during Pongal, 2024. With GV Prakash for music, Mission: Chapter 1 will be meeting Dhanush's Captain Miller, Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan, and Sundar C's Aranmanai 4 at the box-office. [There is also buzz of Aranmanai 4 getting postponed with no official confirmation].
