Studio Green, director Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions backed Thangalaan, is an upcoming 'Chiyaan' Vikram starrer that was scheduled to release on Republic day next year i.e. January 26, 2024. The change in movie's release plans however, await official announcement from the makers. Word in the grapevine is that the makers are planning to take the movie to international platforms, which is why there is a postponement in Thangalaan release date. 

Thangalaan, a period drama directed by Pa. Ranjith based on the slavery of Tamil people in Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) during the British era, will now be presented in an international film festival in February, 2024 first. Thangalaan is now expected to hit theater screens in Summer, 2024.
