Jigarthanda DoubleX written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj is one of the acclaimed releases from Tamil cinema this year, and the film starring Raghava Lawrence, SJ Suryah in the lead, made its OTT premiere on Netflix on December 8, 2023. A western comedy set in the 70s, Jigarthanda DoubleX is a spiritual successor to Karthik Subbraj's 2014 hit Jigarthanda, and has Raghava Lawrence playing an ardent Clint Eastwood fan, and SJ Suryah as a longtime AD of Satyajit Raj, one of the greatest directors of Indian cinema.  

Much to everyone's surprise including Jigarthanda DoubleX writer, director Karthik Subbaraj, the 93 year old Hollywood veteran who popularized western troupes in movies, is aware of the tribute paid to him in the Tamil film. An official page for Clint Eastwood confirmed the same on the X platform, when a Tamil fan sent in a request to Eastwood to watch the film. They also responded that the actor, director who is currently directing, producing Juror 2 will watch Jigarthanda DoubleX post completion of the project.
