Pa. Ranjith directed Thangalaan starring actor Vikram in the lead is an upcoming period drama, that is based on true life events that took place in pre-Independence India. The plot revolves around the enslavement of Tamil origin people in Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) of Karnataka, and a recently released teaser of the Thangalaan movie made head turns with its cut.

Vikram for his intimidating portrayal of the 'Son of Gold' also received wide acclaim, especially since he doesn't utter any dialogues in the teaser video. During a press interaction, actor Vikram's statement that he doesn't have any dialogues in the Thangalaan teaser seems to have been misinterpreted as 'Chiyaan' [as Vikram's fondly known], not having any dialogues in the movie. 

Vikram's manager has come out on social media to state that this is just a mere confusion, and that Vikram indeed has dialogues in Thangalaan, the movie.

Thangalaan is a joint production venture of Studio Green and Pa. Ranjith's Neelam Productions. The film is scheduled to release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages.
