[Updated: October 31, 2023] As reported by MovieCrow, it has now been officially announced that Chiyaan Vikram starrer Thangalaan will be releasing in theaters on Republic Day next year i.e. January 26, 2024. The teaser of the Pa. Ranjith directed movie will be out on November 1, 2023 [Wednesday] at 7 PM.

A Studio Green production, Thangalaan is co-produced by Pa. Ranjith's Neelam Productions and is scheduled to release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages. The movie is a period drama set during the British era, and is based on the true life events of Tamil mine workers who were enslaved at the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) of Karnataka.

Thangalaan also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathi, Daniel Caltagirone, Harikrishnan Anbudurai among others. The technical crew of this film includes GV Prakash for music, Tamil Praba as co-screenplay writer, A Kishor Kumar for cinematography and Selva RK for edits.
