Actor, director G. Marimuthu is a known face among Tamil audience, thanks to his appearances in several movies and popular TV serials. Marimuthu who is a regular on Sun TV's Ethir Neechal soap unexpectedly passed away after suffering a heart attack, while dubbing for the show at a Chennai studio. Ironically a scene from the Ethir Neechal serial had Marimuthu's character Aadhi Gunasekaran act out as if he was anticipating a cardiac arrest soon.

G. Marimuthu died aged 56 on the morning of September 8, 2023 i.e. today. Marimuthu recently made a memorable impression in his last film appearance Jailer, starring Rajinikanth in the lead. Fans paid tribute by recollecting a particular scene from Jailer which had Marimuthu's character 'Paneer Annan' sending the theater into laughter eruptions.

Several film personalities and political leaders have also been condoling the loss of G. Marimuthu, who has been active in the Tamil showbiz since 1993. Posthumously, the actor will be seen in Shankar, Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 and Suriya's Kanguva among other projects.
