Rajinikanth starrer Jailer is a Tamil film that released in theaters on August 10, 2023. But the movie from day 1 has been celebrated equally in Karnataka, partly due to Rajini's roots, partly due to Kannada star Shivarajkumar's scorching cameo and partly due to people travelling in hoards to Bengaluru, due to the ban of early morning shows in Tamil Nadu. 

The Nelson Dilipkumar directed Jailer has now entered profit zone in Karnataka region. The movie in less than 3 days has achieved breakeven, and the share is estimated to be around Rs. 10 Cr+.

Jailer produced by Sun Pictures, and with Anirudh for music is pulling in theater crowds like no other at the moment. It would be interesting to see the number it achieves once day 4 of its opening weekend (August 13, 2023), and the Independence day public holiday (August 15, 2023) passes by.
