Maaveeran [titled Mahaveerudu in Telugu] is a Sivakarthikeyan starrer fantasy political drama that released in theaters on July 14, 2023. Maaveeran's OTT release on Amazon Prime Video streaming platform, has now been revealed as August 11, 2023 i.e.  Friday.

Maaveeran/Mahaveerudu is written and directed by National Award winning filmmaker Madonne Ashwin of Mandela (2021) fame. The movie follows the story of a timid comic artist who comes to be guided by a mysterious voice (Vijay Sethupathi in Tamil, Ravi Teja in Telugu), leading him to take on a powerful corrupt politician. 

Aditi Shankar plays female lead in the film while actors Mysskin, Saritha, Telugu actor Sunil, Monisha Blessy, Yogi Babu among others appear in important roles. Maaveeran/Mahaveerudu is a production venture of Shanthi Talkies and the U/A censored movie comes with a runtime of 2 hours and 46 minutes i.e. 166 minutes. 

The technical crew of this film includes Bharath Sankar for music, Vidhu Ayyanna for cinematography, Yannick Ben for stunts, Shobi Paulraj for choreography, Dinesh Manoharan for costume design, Kumar Gangappan, Arun Venjaramoodu for art/production design and Philomin Raj for edits. Saregama holds the audio rights to Maaveeran/Mahaveerudu and the Tamil songs have lyrics by Yugabharathi, Kabilan, CM Lokesh and Vishnu Edavan.
