Indian film industry is currently gearing up with releases of four major movies across the nation, and they will all be coming out in time for the Independence day weekend holiday season in the country. BookMyShow, a major ticket booking site in India has confirmed that the advance sales for all the four movies Jailer (starring Rajinikanth), Gadar 2 (starring Sunny Deol), Bholaa Shankar (starring Chiranjeevi) and OMG 2 (starring Akshay Kumar) are through the roof.

However the ticket sales for the Tamil film Jailer in the last 24 hours alone is leading by a huge margin. Bookings for Jailer in India opened at all centers on August 6, 2023 and despite being a regional film mainly catering to the South audience, the movie's ticket sales have surpassed other big leaguers like Bollywood's OMG 2, and Gadar 2 - which is a sequel to the Hindi film industry's historical blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001).

It is worth mentioning here that the advance bookings for the Telugu film Bholaa Shankar which is a remake of 2015 Tamil hit Vedalam (starring Ajith Kumar), is yet to open in all centers.
