7 Screen Studio, producers of actor Vijay's upcoming movie Leo have updated that the Karnataka distribution rights of the movie have been acquired by the Bengaluru-based Swagath Enterprises. The company this year, had also presented Vijay's Varisu which released for Sankranti/Pongal on January 11. Leo is scheduled to release on October 19, 2023 for the Dusshera holiday weekend.

Leo is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and is said to be a part of Lokesh's cinematic universe known as the LCU. This means that there will be crossovers of storylines and characters from the previously released LCU movies - Vikram (2022) and Kaithi (2019).
