D 50 (tentative title) is actor Dhanush's 50th movie as a lead, and the star is also directing this film. Shooting of D 50 has begun and it was officially announced by producers Sun Pictures, with a new poster release. D 50 is Dhanush's second directorial venture after Pa Paandi (2017). 

Touted to be a gangster drama set against the backdrop of North Chennai, D 50 also stars SJ Suryah, Sundeep Kishan (as Dhanush's brothers), Dushara Vijayan, Vishnu Vishal, Kalidas Jayaram, Trisha among others. The movie has been rumoured to be titled Raayan and supposedly has AR Rahman for music. 

Dhanush appears with a shaved head look in D 50 and recently, the actor was spotted with his new tonsure for the movie.
