One of the mid-sized Tamil films to release in the month of June was Por Thozhil starring Sarathkumar, Ashok Selvan, Nikhila Vimal among others. The movie turned out to be a sleeper hit at the box-office. In a recent press interaction celebrating the success of Por Thozhil, film's distributor (of Sakthi Film Factory) officially confirmed that the movie went on to collect Rs. 50 Cr. worldwide. Por Thozhil was produced by Applause Entertainment, E4 Experiments and Eprius Studio at a budget of Rs. 8 Cr. 

A suspense crime thriller, Por Thozhil is written by Alfred Prakash, Vignesh Raja and directed by debutant Vignesh Raja. The movie has music by Jakes Bejoy, cinematography by Kalaiselvan Sivaji and edits by Sreejith Sarang.
