Sivakarthikeyan starrer Maaveeran (titled Mahaveerudu in Telugu) is gearing up for a grand pre-release event, confirmed an official announcement from the makers. The event will take place at Sri Sairam Engineering College, West Tambaram, Chennai and the film's cast and crew are expected to be in full attendance. The trailer of Maaveeran is also expected to release on the same day i.e. July 2, 2023 [Sunday].

An idea-based fantasy film surrounding the life of a comic played by Sivakarthikeyan, Maaveeran is written and directed by Madonne Ashwin of Mandela fame. The filmmaker recently revealed that Sivakarthikeyan's look in the film is inspired by Rajinikanth's character from the Mani Ratnam directed 1991 film Thalapathi. He has also said that Maaveeran's title is related to this Thalapathi-connect and it will be revealed in the first 5 minutes of the movie. 

Maaveeran also stars Aditi Shankar, Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Saritha, Sunil, among others and is a production venture of Shanthi Talkies. Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies is presenting the film in Tamil Nadu, with Saregama holding audio rights, Sun TV satellite and Amazon Prime Video OTT rights. Maaveeran/Mahaveerudu releases in theaters worldwide on July 14, 2023.
