Thangalaan is an upcoming period drama set during the British era, and the film written and directed by Pa. Ranjith is said to be based on true life events of Tamils who were forced to work at the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) of Karnataka. The movie starring actor Vikram in the lead is currently in its final leg of shoot. 

Actor Vikram, who got injured a month back had joined Thangalaan sets on June 17. According to sources, the film only has 10 days of shooting left, and by July first week the entire filming will be wrapped up.

Thangalaan has music by GV Prakash and is produced by Studio Green.
