UTV retains Purampokku Title

Arya and Vijay Sethupathy play the lead roles in 'Purampokku' to be directed by S.P.Jhananathan of 'E' and 'Peranmai' fame. The film deals with illegal acquisition of 'Purampokku' lands by people with power. 

Purampokku was recently embroiled in a title controversy when director SP Jananathan and cinematographer Natraj each claimed that they own the rights to the title. The title issue has been now sorted out and the film title Purampokku has now been retained by UTV.

UTV has issued a press note in this regard. In their statement: "There were speculations about whether the title Purampokku belong to us or not. We wish to clarify that the title is retained by us and the same was confirmed by South Indian Film Chamber, Tamil Film Producers Council and Film & Television Producers’ Guild. Hence, no more confusion and we retain the title for the film from writer-Director S.P. Jhananathan as Purampokku- No Man’s Land starring Arya & Vijay Sethupathi. A few more top artistes are going to join the team and shall keep you updated along with the entire technicians list soon."
