Dhruva Natchathiram, a Gautham Vasudev Menon movie is a long-awaited spy-action thriller from the writer-director. The movie was originally planned with actor Suriya in 2012, and early posters of this project suggested that a Delhi-based head operative named K was putting together a secret dream-team of 12 that would presumably lead covert operations for the country.  

Dhruva Natchathiram with Suriya was dropped a year later in 2013, and was revived with actor Chiyaan Vikram in 2016. The posters and teasers released between 2017 and 2019 confirm that Chiyaan Vikram plays the 12th man in K's covert operative unit. He goes by names Dhruv, John and Joshua and supposedly these are hints of Vikram's triple role in the movie. The posters also indicate John and Josh's names being crossed indicating that it is ultimately Dhruv who fills in for all three. 

Despite all the hype, Dhruva Natchathiram remained unfinished and unreleased over the years, staying true to a line from one of the film's early teasers that goes, "He has been off the radar for the last 8 years, He hasn't been seen anywhere". In recent times, it was strongly suggested that Dhruva Natchathiram has wrapped shooting, and is ready for release on May 19, 2023.  

Seemingly the release plan is still on track as post-production formalities for Dhruva Natchathiram is going on in full swing. An official movie update is said to be coming out on actor Vikram's birthday i.e. April 17, 2023. The film comes with only one song by Harris Jayaraj titled Oru Manam (video song here), and the rest are all background scores. 

Actors Ritu Varma and Aishwarya Rajesh play characters named Anupama and Ragini respectively, while K's 'basement' team of  Bindu, Maya, Cyrus, Joe, Anil M, Salim and Javed, Terry, Ghauri, Satya and Nikki are portrayed by actors Simran, Raadika Sarathkumar, Dhivyadharshini, Maya S Krishnan, Salim Baig, Vamsi Krishna, Sathish Krishnan, Munna, Abhirami Venkatachalam (not in that order). R. Parthiban, Vinayagan, Arjun Das are actors playing villain roles in Dhruva Natchathiram.
