Director Gautham Menon is eagerly awaiting the release of his long-delayed romantic thriller film ‘Ennai Nokki Paayum Thota’ which is set to hit the screens on November 29. ENPT starring Dhanush and Mega Akash in the lead role has music by Darbuka Siva.

GVM in a recent interaction with Baradwajrangan on his Youtube channel talked about music in his films and about the music directors he had worked with. During the conversation, Gautham Menon agreed that a film like ‘Kaakha Kaakha’, a cop-thriller, would have worked well even without songs but to satisfy a larger section of audience songs were included at that time.  If he were to make the film ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ today, he said that he would do it without songs as the audience have also evolved over the years.

On the same lines, GVM has mentioned that his upcoming spy thriller film ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’ (DN) has only one song. Harris Jayaraj while working on the background score may add up songs if he comes up with song situations and that decision is totally up to him, though he has filmed only one song which he feels is essential for the film. Also he said that if he had made DN ten years ago, he would have put in six more songs into the screenplay which he didn’t even bother to do this time.

On the work front, Gautham Menon is working on Joshua starring Puppy-fame Varun in the lead. Once he completes ‘Joshua’, he will be shooting the pending portions of ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’, which is expected to hit the screens in January 2020. GVM will also be directing a film featuring Anushkha Shetty in the lead role.
