As previously reported Lyca Productions made the official announcement on actor Rajinikanth's new film today, and the movie as expected will be directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame. Composer Anirudh has been roped in for the film's music and a note from the banner bankrolling this project read: 

Today on the occassion of our beloved "Chairman" Subaskaran's birthday, Lyca Productions is feeling acclaimed & honoured in announcing "Superstar" Rajinikanth's "#Thalaivar 170" film under our banner.

 

This film will be directed by TJ Gnanavel, will have music by "Rockstar" Anirudh and produced by Subaskaran. We are further happy to inform that the shoot of the film will commence soon under the leadership of GKM Tamil Kumaran and will be ready for release in 2024.

Thalaivar 170 is TJ Gnanavel's third film as director after Kootathil Oruthan (2017), Jai Bhim (2021). The project is Anirudh's fourth collaboration with his uncle-in-law Rajinikanth, after Petta (2019), Darbar (2020), the upcoming Jailer (2023).
