Naatu Naatu, the viral hit song from SS Rajamouli directed RRR movie has scored the Best original song nomination in this year's Academy Awards i.e. the Oscars, 2023! Composer MM Keeravani and lyric writer Chandrabose of the Telugu song are representing India among western competitors, for the world's most prestigious film awards.

The 95th Oscars ceremony will take place on March 12, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre in Ovation Hollywood. The ceremony will be televised live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide. America's famous talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, who previously hosted the Oscars in 2017 and 2018, is hosting for the third time this year.

RRR - a period action drama set around India's independence, is a fictional story based on the lives of two real life freedom fighters. The movie starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead, opened to an unprecedented response in the west last year, and has since become a global phenomenon.

Naatu Naatu recently won its composer, lyricists and singers a Golden Globe for Best Original song beating its Hollywood counterparts, and RRR the film won Critics Choice Award for Best Foreign Language Film It remains to be seen if the Telugu film industry ends up making India and the South Indian film fraternity proud at the Oscars this time around.
