RRR composer MM Keeravani lifts a golden globe for Naatu Naatu!

The global impact of SS Rajamouli directed RRR is no news, as the movie not only caught became a talking point the western sections but also has been having its brush with the major award sections like the Grammies and the Golden Globes. At the 80th annual ceremony of the Golden Globes that acknowledges and celebrates the world of TV and films, RRR music composer MM Keeravani created history by winning Best original song for Naatu Naatu from the movie.

MM Keeravani defeated the likes of Taylor Swift and Rihanna, who were pegged as possible winners this year. RRR was represented at the Golden Globe Awards 2023 by its director SS Rajamouli, star Jr NTR and Ram Charan and the film's music composer.

 

 

AR Rahman, the first Indian to win a golden globe in 2009 for Slumdog Millionaire called Keeravani's win a 'paradigm shift'.  While AR Rahman's win was also the first Indian golden globe for best original score, MM Keeravani's is the first Indian song to win a Golden Globe Award along with being the first Asian song to win this accolade.
