The box-office collection of Tamil films - Thunivu (Ajith) and Varisu (Vijay), which released for Pongal last week have been quite good considering the extisting market of the respective actors. While Varisu has recorded the third best opening for Vijay, Thunivu's box-office collection in Australia is the biggest grossing number for an Ajith movie yet. 

In the first 5 days of release, Varisu has grossed A$ 482,719 i.e. Rs. 2.74 Cr  whereas Thunivu has collected  A$250,445 i.e. Rs. Rs. 1.42 Cr. The approximate updated collection status of both movies are as follows:
