For the first time in actor Vijay's career, a premiere show was held at Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai with invited press and fans at 9 PM today. With the first half screened, reviews and responses from those present at the premiere have started taking tweet forms and here is a list of some of them:

Also in attendance at the Varisu premiere was film's director Vamshi Paidipally and producer Dil Raju. The film's first show begins at 4 AM in India and at midnight [IST] in the UAE on Janaury 11, 2023 [Wednesday]. 

Halfway thru #Varisu. Takes time to get us glued but once it does, it's super-fun. Relies more on #Vijay's comedy sense and brilliant dance than punch dialogues and fights, and that's a win in our books. If the rise in tempo continues, it'll be a Pongal treat!
