It is a well known fact that Tamil Nadu Youth Welfare and Sports Development minister Udhayanidhi Stalin has been associated with distributing not just Ajith's Thunivu, but also Vijay's Varisu in some regions. Udhay had previously stated that 7 Screen Studio, Tamil Nadu distributor of Varisu were in talks with him to release the film in some of the areas via his banner Red Giant Movies.
We are making this a memorable #VarisuPongal for you!

Today, 7 Screen Studios officially announced that Varisu will be presented in Chennai City, Chengalpet, Coimbatore, North Arcot and South Arcot areas by Red Giant Movies. Even before this official announcement, curiosity always lingered over how the screen distribution will be if the same distributor, not to mention an influential one at that (Udhayanidhi Stalin is also the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin), simultaneously presents box-office competitors.
Udhayanidhi has always maintained that a head-to-head box-office clash between actors Ajith and Vijay is not happening for the first time, and that the theater screen split will be on an equal basis. It is worth mentioning here that Varisu producer Dil Raju, a known name in the Telugu film industry, recently shocked everyone by stating that he is setting up a meeting with Udhayanidhi Stalin, to request more screens for his film in Tamil Nadu.

He Said VIJAY Is The No.1 Star In Tamilnadu ! 🔥
Dil Raju Request To Someone , He Want VARISU Get More Screen Than Thunivu, Bcoz VIJAY Is Bigger Than AJITH ! 💯#VarisuPongal #ThunivuPongal @DilRajuOfficial pic.twitter.com/I4QC2vmLap
Dil Raju's reason that 'Vijay is a bigger star than Ajith', did not go down well with fans of the latter.
