Vijay is bigger than Ajith - Varisu producer Dil Raju!

Telugu film producer Dil Raju intitially tried branching into Kollywood with Kamal Haasan, Shankar's Indian 2 but due to budgetary reasons, Dil Raju's maiden Tamil production is turning out to be Varisu with actor Vijay. Varisu, a direct Tamil film is releasing alongside Thunivu for Pongal on January 12, 2023. Thunivu is headlined by actor Ajith, who is not just Vijay's peer but is also often pitted against the Varisu star.

 

With all eyes currently on the Varisu Vs Thunivu box-office clash, fan-emotions are on an all time high, and Varisu producer Dil Raju might have added just the fuel to fire-up the ember. While talking about theater allocations in Tamil Nadu for the two big holiday releases, Dil Raju said,

 

"In Tamil Nadu, Vijay is No: 1 star. Everyone knows that. Udhayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies is releasing Thunivu on a major scale. I'm going to Chennai tomorrow to meet and ask to provide some (more screens for Varisu). Why? Because Vijay is bigger (star) than Ajith.. Vijay is in top position compared to Ajith..For Vijay, I need some extra theaters..I will ask this as a producer because this is business.."

 

Considering the professional 'rivalry' between Ajith and Vijay and the endless fan-war it fuels, Dil Raju's open statement has come as a shocker to many. Needless to add, fans from both sides are having a field day with this development on social media.
