Actor Sivakarthikeyan has been shooting for a Tamil-Telugu bilingual titled Maaveeran with Mandela director Madonne Ashwin. Recently, it was widely reported that the filming has come to a halt due to creative differences between Sivakarthikeyan and the film's director.

However sources close to the movie claim filming was temporarily stopped due to the heavy rains at Chennai, which has elicited an orange alert till November 6 in the region. Word also has it that Maaveeran will resume shooting from Monday i.e. November 7, 2022.

Previously it was buzzed that music label SareGaMa is in talks to acquire the audio rights of Maaveeran. An official announcement on the same is however awaited. An action thriller produced by Shanthi Talkies, Maaveeran also stars Aditi Shankar, Mysskin, Saritha, Yogi Babu among others.
