23 years after Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishnan faced each other off on the cult hit Padayappa, the iconic duo are all set to reunite on Rajini's upcoming film Jailer. Ramya Krishnan has confirmed that she is indeed part of the movie as previously reported and has told Pinkvilla that she begins shooting from August 10, 2022. What begins tomorrow is a test shoot while full fledged filming is expected to begin from August 15, 2022 or August 22, 2022 as revealed by Rajinikanth himself. 

Ramya Krishnan is the second actor after Shiva Rajkumar to have confirmed being on-board Jailer. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Mohan, Sivakarthikeyan are also said to be part of the movie, with confirmations still awaiting.

Jailer is a Nelson Dhilipkumar directorial with Anirudh for music. Sun Pictures is producing the movie, which is said to be based on a prison's inmates and Rajinikanth playing a jailer in it.
