Soorarai Pottru is a 2020 hit starring Suriya in the lead and it was the first big star Tamil film to bypass theaters and release directly on an OTT platform. The movie was directed by Sudha Kongara and was based on Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath's autobiographical book Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey. This film is being remade in Hindi with Sudha returning as director and Suriya as one of the producers.

Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan will be reprising Suriya, Aparna Balamurali's lead roles in the remake and recently the movie's Hindi title was rumoured to be Start Up [One of the film's producers has stated that no title has been fixed but has not explicity denied the rumour]. It was also revealed that Suriya plays a cameo in the Hindi remake and that the team recently shot at a Chennai air terminal after acquiring permission from the Airport Authority of India (AAI).

Previously the Akshay Kumar starrer was filmed at Mumbai and its current shooting at Chennai is expected to go on for a few more days.
